TRACY DUECK
CEO / OWNER

Tracy Dueck has always had the gift of entertaining. From early on, the former stay-at-home mother of three always had a plateful of goodies on hand and the welcome mat out for her guests. During those years, Tracy honed the skills that led her to open the very first Tracycakes Bakery Café in 2006.

With her signature cupcakes and delicious homemade menu items, Tracy treats her Tracycakes guests with that same homespun hospitality. Today—together with daughters Melissa and Jessica—she operates two Tracycakes locations: in Abbotsford and Murrayville.

A member of Gro Your Biz, the Langley, Abbotsford Chambers of Commerce, and many other fine organizations, Tracy is actively involved in the communities in which she does business. Through the numerous charities Tracycakes supports—and the year-round special events and promotions her company offers—Tracy continues to make the world a better place, one cupcake at a time. In her off-hours, Tracy and her husband of 28 years, Ray, enjoy family times at the cabin, gardening, and spending time with their two delightful grandsons, Jonah and Fox.

 

 

MELISSA SUOMINEN
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Melissa Suominen serves as Tracycakes Bakery Café’s Chief Operations Officer and oversees the two Tracycakes locations.

After graduating from W. J. Mouat Secondary in 2004, Melissa studied hair design at Utopia Academy, earning her diploma in 2006. Shortly after, she established her own business, Under the Veil, which provides hairstyling services for bridal parties and grads alike.

When not serving her wonderful Tracycakes and Under the Veil customers,

Mel indulges in her love of thrift-store shopping, cooking (she’s a big Jamie Oliver fan), and hiking and bike riding with her husband of four years, Mika. She blogs about thrifting and other adventures at www.melissasuominen.blogspot.ca.

JESSICA DUECK
KITCHEN MANAGER

In addition to being Tracy’s youngest daughter, Jessica Dueck could also be called her “mini-me.” Jess started working at Tracycakes when it first opened in 2006. After completing a culinary apprenticeship program through her school, she graduated from Abbotsford’s W. J. Mouat Secondary in 2009.
Jessica bakes up a storm and prepares delicious lunches for Tracycakes guests. She especially loves filling wedding cupcake orders and takes pride in helping make someone’s big day extra-special. When she’s not baking and decorating cupcakes at Tracycakes, this happy-go-lucky young lady can be found cruiser bike riding with her mom and sister, hanging out with friends, cooking, or exploring the great outdoors with her boyfriend of four years, Nick.
